Fraud / Scam Alert

Batch, Poore & Williams, PC has recently become aware of a fraudulent scheme in which an individual or entity is impersonating members of our firm in an attempt to obtain personal information from third parties.

In these incidents, the impersonator has:

  • Contacted individuals with purported job opportunities and requested personal or sensitive information; and/or

  • Sent unsolicited messages directing recipients to click on links to download files allegedly from our firm

These communications are not from our firm and are not from anyone affiliated with Batch, Poore & Williams, PC.

Important Information

  • We do not cold contact individuals regarding job opportunities.

  • We do not request personal or sensitive information from third parties in this manner.

  • We do not send unsolicited links or files to non-clients or opposing parties for download.

How to Identify the Scam

Common indicators of this fraudulent activity include:

  • Unsolicited messages claiming to be from our firm

  • Requests for personal or confidential information

  • Requests to click on a link or download a file

All legitimate communications from our firm will originate from our official domains:

  • @batchpoore.com

  • @batchwilliams.com

If you receive a suspicious message, please verify the sender’s email address carefully.

Our Response

We have reported this matter to appropriate local and federal authorities and are cooperating in efforts to identify and prosecute those responsible.

At this time, we have no evidence that any confidential client information has been compromised. This appears to be a phishing scheme designed to impersonate our firm.

If you believe you have been contacted as part of this scheme, we recommend that you:

  • Do not respond or provide any information

  • Do not click on any links or download attachments

  • Report the communication to your email provider and appropriate authorities
