Emmalee Smart joined Batch, Poore & Williams near the end of 2019 and is a paralegal and the office manager for our firm. She primarily works with our attorneys and assists with the day-to-day functions of the firm as well as client matters, such as trial preparation, discovery and pleading drafting.
Emmalee began her career in family law in 2017 as a courier where she learned right away how tedious and stressful the legal process can be. Very quickly her passion for helping others and personal experiences translated into a love of family law. She worked her way through college and graduated early from NC State in 2019 with a degree in political science, concentration in law and justice, and minor in criminology. (Go Pack!) She plans on attending law school in the future and is a certified Notary Public for the State of North Carolina.
In her free time Emmalee loves TV, whether it be the Real Housewives, Netflix’s latest docu-series, or a football/hockey game. She can also frequently be found walking her cat on various greenway trails.
